Most of you already know that Glen, who has been good to all of us in the past, is having financial trouble with his site.
Keeping a web site like that is hard as it keeps growing and growing, eating up disk space and bandwidth exponentially, every month.
If prophecies goes down, this site will soon experience the same thing. As more and more members make the transition, Punky will inevitably end up buying more server space, and upgrading to a higher more efficient bandwidth server type to handle the load, so to speak.
Not that that is a bad thing... ...but there is lots of great info and articles and ideas that will be lost (unless Glen has backed the system up at home)
However web hosting companies can be quite shrewd... ..often holding your info hostage for a time untill you bring your account up to date.
for the most part, there are alot of good folks that we have all met in there. All the BS <--(to put it politely) has been caused by a few. or the ingnorant.
How will we all stay in touch? Or do any of us really care.
But moreover------> will the influx of lost forum chatters come here and crash punky's site. Should we get together and buy Punky more server space if that happens? _________________ http://community.freespeech.org/biblical_politics_world_leaders_and_the_end_of_days |

I'd happily donate to increased server space if we need it on Oroborus. _________________ Unfuck the World.

I'd rather donate to Oroborus since that's the main forum I use. I haven't been to Prophecies in quite awhile now. _________________

I'd be willing to donate a few dollars each month - Punky - you need to put one of those "donate to the site" buttons on here somewhere with a link to paypal.................

I noticed a couple folks commented that "I don't go to Prophecies (that much or anymore)"
Can I ask why?
I go there but have noticed I'm a thread killer there, hope it's not the same here. Once I post at prophecies, the thread dies.
Is my breathe that bad?
I use deoderant.
I'm sorry can't help the gassy thing.
Truth be told - I noticed it's cliquish (sp) but understand about "trolls" so figured I'd bide my time but it's been over a year and I still get ignored or kill the thread (again).
I'll take constructive critisism |

Hi Iris,
I left when they started cracking down on political discussion so hard. I just didn't see how you could discuss prophecy if you couldn't discuss world events that probably are prophecy coming true. Plus, after being on Oroborus for awhile I just loved it so much that I never wanted to go anywhere else. _________________

I remember your name. Blooregard (without the kazoo). I understand about politics and prophecies. Seems they do go hand in hand. I watch Cspan a lot and actually read several newspapers (on line) but try not to talk politics.
Thank you, Ocean.

lol sammy.
Things get too vicious over there. Too many personal attacks and total lack of respect. That is not allowed here. In fact, here it is even possible to discuss politics without that happening! What a concept! We allow one another to disagree without going for the jugular, and if we do go for the jugular, someone steps in and says now hold on a minute and it gets discussed, worked out, and resolved.
This is a very supportive atmosphere.
I miss some of the good people from over there, and I'm always happy to see one drift in here to check out the ambiance. There are some people over there I definitely do NOT miss.
I sometimes drift back there when I've exhausted this forum but I only check two threads. The rest no longer interest me because I know how the content will go. |

Glen just did some kind of update over there that has been causing some issues for people who use the Safari browser. I don't know which browser you're using, but try it with Internet Explorer or Firefox and see if that fixes the problem. If not, let one of us know and we can contact Glen to see if there's anything else you can do. _________________ Align yourself with those who seek the truth, and avoid those who have found it. - Vaclav Havel

I got kicked off Saturday and couldn't sign back in Sat. or Sun; no message, the page just wouldn't load at all. Stayed off computer yesterday; got in this morning but it was slow and I got kicked off twice, and this last time I can't get back in. I use Internet Explorer but will try Firefox. I also ran my virus scans (Ad-Aware and SpyBot) and am going to run a Norton scan now.
This is the message I am getting today:
Warning: mysql_connect(): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (11) in /home/prophet/public_html/dbconnect.php on line 11
Unable to select database |

I saw your posts and tried it myself. I couldn't get on the last couple of tries, but I am in now. It looks as if there have been posts going up all during the period of the last couple hours. _________________ 'For those who believe,

I was able to read and send a pm today on Prophecies. I still can't read my other pm's, nor the body text in posts at Prophecies. I can read subject line, and signatures. I use Safari. Does anyone know how I can put Firefox and/or I.E. on my Mac, and will it screw anything on my computer up?
I don't have a problem with Prophecies or any fighting (knock on wood). I stay with the healing people.
I DO like it that on Oroborus, if I feel particularly frisky, I can say naughty words and express my flaming liberal views without being censured. _________________ "Peace is the perfume of God." - Prem Rawat |
